The book of Acts is a story of the earliest years of Christianity before it was even called Christianity. The unfolding stories and history in these earliest years happened under the shadow of the Roman Empire. They speak about the in-breaking, disruptive reign of God. They speak of the empowering presence and companionship of Holy Spirit. They speak of a new emerging community, their challenges of diversified growth, the changes they had to navigate, the expansions, the tensions, the hardships, and the mission to go into a world and to embody and speak good news of a salvation defined as healing, as restorative, as inclusive, and as transformational.

Each week we will only tackle a part of a chapter in the Sunday reflection, not the whole chapter, so we encourage you to read a chapter or more each and every week as a spiritual practice for your life.
